Why do we need yearly professional Family Photos?” This seems to be such a common question in the circles I frequent. I know everyone is different, and not everyone WANTS to have professional photos yearly, but let me give you some of the reasons I highly recommend having them done.
The first point I want to touch on, is that your kids will only be little for a short time. Speaking from experience, the more you have, the faster it goes. I don’t say this to scare you, or to make you sad. These years absolutely FLY by, and as a Mama, I want to hold onto every once of my sweet little baby. In 10 years I wont remember what my daughter looks like now. I wont remember how small she was, or how bright her smile is. I will remember how I feel, but for me at least, those images fade from my mind, and I so desperately want to hold onto them.
Of course, some people have a very vivid memory, and that's amazing. So here’s my next reason. As a mom, I’m usually the one taking those cute photos for Facebook or to send to family and friends, but I’m RARELY in them. Parents are usually not in those sweet photos. Sure, you. have them, but you are the one behind the camera (or phone more likely) and you don’t get to be a part of that memory. It’s so important to have photos, not only of your kiddos, but WITH them. You’ll look back on those for years to come and remember the feeling of holding your baby in your arms.
If I haven’t convinced you yet, maybe my last point will. When I look back on photos of my grandma and her sisters as kids I see how cute they were in all those ages. I love looking back in time and hearing the stories behind each image. My grandma and her sisters can recall almost perfectly each one even now. I want your kids and grandkids to hear those same stories from you. I want you to recall those feelings you had in those photos. And having them beautifully captured makes them all the more special!
