What is "lifestyle newborn" photography? And why do I want it?
You may be asking yourself, "what is a lifestyle newborn session?" and "what makes it different from a regular newborn session?" Well I am glad you asked! There are 3 areas that really stand out to me when I think of a Lifestyle Newborn session vs a regular newborn session.
The first thing I think of is that my Lifestyle Newborn sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. This means you aren't traveling to me, but that I am coming to you. This allows you and baby to feel more relaxed and comfortable, which makes everyone happy! But have no fear, I will not be bringing 10,000 props with me into your living room. I am there to take photos of your little love, not a bunch of "stuff". That being said, if you have a special outfit or "prop" you would like photos of them with I will absolutely do that for you! I also love coming to you so we can works at your little one's pace.
The next thing I think is that Lifestyle Newborn sessions are less unnaturally posed. You wont find that any of the "poses" I use differ much from how a newborn actually "poses" themself. I want you and babe to be as comfortable as possible. This also. means your images are not edited to look "perfectly smooth" either, babies are born perfect, I don't believe they need to be "retouched" all that much.
The final difference I'm gonna touch on is Lifestyle Newborn sessions are more about your family as a whole. What I mean by this is that I'm able to capture the "feeling" of the new addition, from that new Mommy glow to the proud Dad look, even the "whoa this thing is so tiny" of the new big sibling. I love the personal touch it adds to the session. It's not all about that "perfect" pose or the best lighting, but about those little moments that you may otherwise forget. I want you to look back on your pictures and remember how it felt holding your tiny human in your arms. I want you to remember the sleepless nights, the little cries, and remember how worth it everything was.
